ladies and gentlemen, this is how not to write a blog. get it, be active for some time, get more views and then DISAPPEAR. don't finish your cool series, don't upload on your insta either, what for? to actually be productive? what?
anyways... stop bringing yourself down woman, you're here now. i'm so sorry i wasn't on here at all. i finished my final year of school and that meant big exams and lots of them so i was preparing for that and my schedule was all over the place. then i was busy with having a crisis over not being in school anymore, i went through rehabilitation, got rid of my wisdom tooth, went badly through my break in therapy but i'm here now. i've had so many ideas for posts, which is usually a big problem, so now i have at least some thoughts.
because i was away for so long i didn't do any favourites since march so i think i'm gonna do a half year faves split into 3 posts, beauty, fashion and others. i have a couple smush drafts cause there have been a lot of things going on in my life.
the only thing i've been getting better with is books and beauty stuff and i kinda want to touch on that here. i have lots of beautiful albums and books about fashion industry and stuff like that so maybe reviews? what do you think?
when it comes to the general future, i've gotten into all the places i wanted, i've passed all the exams, i might be looking for a job soon so my growing up is going great to be honest. i'm in a better place than where i was a month ago for example but i still have some problems with motivation and such so please be patient. but now i have a bigger general motivation, since i'm starting studies in october i want this blog to be on time and a good place for my work concerning the studies as well.
i don't know what this post is, honestly, but i want to get back into actually doing things before college starts so let's start here.

i'm finally going on a trip! i haven't been out of here since july so i'm super pumped! warsaw and gdansk it is, going by train so it's going to be pure pleasure. i'm also taking my good camera so expect a nice travel log to follow.
today's post is super tiny because i'm in the middle of packing, but i'm planning to make a big one tomorrow, i'm going to a theatre in warsaw. check back tomorrow night to see that.

this has been your monday dose of hope.

in times of need, acrylic is here
i started by making the templates, wanted to make them with paper, turned out that they slide all over the place so i, the genius that i am, thought of adhesive foil so this was a big connivence.
the biggest thing was to figure out how to get the pattern onto the fabric. i did some tests, hoped that print paint would work but that was too see-through, there was no contrast to see the outline. then i tried with spray paint but that was even worse.
if you don't know what to do, do it in acrylic. simple and the effect was perfect.
here are some photos from the making:
let's just strop here. at this point i was so proud of myself, right? like wow, this looks nice, really suits the theme, seems well designed as a pattern. then i realised.
the suckers.
how the flipping fuck am i going to do that. it was just a pain it the but really, cause i had to cut it all individually. i had to number all of them, different colours for each tentacle to not mix things up. of course i had to save those little circles because it wasn't unified in any way (why should i do that? to make my work easier? that's for chumps). after gluing down the rest of the foil i had to go over each spot, make it smaller and glue down. i'm sure there is an easier way but i'm not going to think about it now.
i don't really have any more photos from the making of the actual costumes.
i don't really have that much more to say about the costumes. next up the stage design and summary.
this has been your monday dose of mind-boggling work.

p.s. this is draining my energy. i'll finish those posts this week and quit talking about this project for now. from february sockabrate is coming back.

kinda here, kinda there
hi, sorry for the slight hiatus, i'm going through some tough times and the last thing i wanted was to exist in cyber space.
śródświetlne was a grand success, thank you everyone who came and helped me, even if there were tiny mishaps. i want to do more but right now i have to focus on education more, the non-artistic kind.
not a lot of things happened through out christmas here, i have been eating a lot though, just like every holiday haha! oh, and i wore some christmas socks and earrings, to get into the spirit you know.
oh, but something happened before christmas! i went to see the new star wars! it's amazing, highly recommend. the production value of this film is just so great, i really wish i could visit their set or wardrobes cause the costumes and makeup were so well made, it probably took hours to make some prosthetics. btw, does anybody know a good brand of oil based face paints? cause now i only have water based but they don't work on latex and i can't decide which ones to get.
i want to get back to sending letters, it's so nice and i really miss it. in 2016 i would like to open a tumblr related to postcrossing and mail art, would you be interested? anybody wants to send me something, haha?
how are you planning to spend your new years? i want to draw more, but my room is such a mess a a4 paper doesn't fit anywhere. i was making christmas gifts for my family, little illustrations of celtic birth calendar of trees (i don't know how to call it), and i had to stack it all.
other news, i got a new parka and i think that it might be one of my favourite buy ever. i look good in it. i, with my low self esteem and a high key hatred of my body, can say i look good, so it's bloody good, i'll show you on instagram.
i guess this post is all over the place, i just wanted to get things out of my system and into your brain, forever, ha ha ha! ok, i'll stop now.
śródświetlne posts are coming up, 3 at most really, i want to show you how i made this shizz cause i'm for once proud of it.
enjoy your life, you're worth it.

hmxbalmain
today, i'm going to be a real fashion blogger and, for a change, gonna write something current.
the new hm x balmain collection
out 5th november, all the rage for a while. personally, i'm not a big fan of balmain, i stopped being interested in these collaborations when marni went on sale and i snatched a pencil skirt, silk scarf and two pairs of earring which would knock you of your feet. but i'll save that for another time.
back to balmain. some facts for you;
the balmain house was founded by pierre balmain in 1946.
the house suffered rationed fabric during the II world war period but after that balmain followed in the steps of dior and took on ''the new look''. the house was and still is famous for extravagant haute couture looks with some retro vibes. just this year hm announced that the brand, currently under the head designer olivier rousteing, will be their 11th collaboration.
personally, i'm not a big fan of balmain, just as i wasn't a versace fan. the fashion is a bit too much for me, the chains, dark colours. i don't really dress that way and prefer that kind of style only on stage. being the professional that i am, i haven't really noticed any signs of the next collection (the hm near me doesn't carry it) so i didn't really care, only czuch told me.
the collection is a huge success, for hm especially. the clothes are really popular, kylie jenner on the ads probably also helped, every self-respecting fashionista wanted her dress.

the clothes are definitely not reasonably priced, c'mon it's hm. the promo shots are so cliche, they my photographer friend told me they are not even properly framed. but the light is good.
it's all important, of course, but the real thing i wanted to write about is the ridiculous ''crowd'' reaction! all i can say is to do with poland and i sincerely hope it wasn't like that elsewhere.
and it was madness. the vip event in the capital was just bizarre and laughable. you would think that if you're a fashion blogger or a writer for a well known magazine, you are used to such events, and know how to behave properly, right? wrong. here is a great article, if you can read it (it's in polish) but the photos speak for themselves. everybody wanted a piece and people even took wrong sizes and tried to steal from others. the exchanges and not really legal trade was just unbelievable.
the clothes weren't supposed to come out for everybody for a couple of days after that night. imagine that you could buy those on ebay for double the price just a couple of hours after closing. that's just pure nasty.
the premiere was just as crazy if not more. even people who didn't know who balmain is were waiting pressed to the glass in the morning. the website was down, for a couple of hours at least. i would hate to be the sales assistants then. i cant's even contain the disgust for this event, i'm genuinely mad at those people! you're just plain embarrassing...
why?? why?? i get that you want to feel the luxury of a faux fur with an itchy label or the heavy sequins on a dress that wasn't even touched by the head designer but behave your self!
the crowd is mindless, horrid and grotesque. the collection is not worth any broken ribs or purses, in my opinion.
it's not the fashion week sales, it's not primark on oxford street, it's not boxing day in selfridges. calm down. even if it's all out of stock.
this has been your monday dose of common sense.

long time no see, eh? i'm very sorry, i really have to get back on track with a lot of stuff.
news first.
i got 98% on my cae exam! how cool is that?
it's an advanced english certificate, big deal for me.
other stuff include quite a lot of trips with photos so maybe expect that in some tbt posts.
wedding is coming, if i get permission, i'll post some photos here to, it's quite a big deal, organising it and all. i even got somebody to go with me!
sockabrate has been on hiatus since i last posted, i don't even wanna count the weeks i need to do, i feel like long time projects are not for me, really.
i was also thinking of writing polish translations for some posts, what do you think? i'm really proud of some of them but i shouldn't trust google translate to organise the text so that it makes at least a bit of sense. it may take a bit of time to translate all of them but there would always be the label if you need it.
i was also thinking of doing more illustration since i'm trying to draw a little more and still nature is boring after a while.
i don't know.
how are you??
love and see you soon,

hi,
long time no see, totally my fault. i'm sorry.
but all that guilt aside, i have more, material, to add.
today, 11th of april, the wroclaw fashion meeting pop up store started.
long time no see, totally my fault. i'm sorry.
but all that guilt aside, i have more, material, to add.
today, 11th of april, the wroclaw fashion meeting pop up store started.
it's an independent fashion fair organised in browar mieszczanski in wroclaw. all brands are polish, some even local in wroclaw. the stalls are small but very well equipped. the whole place is shared by children's, women's and men's fashion.
browar mieszczanski is quite interesting by itself, actually. it's an old beer brewery for local producers. now it's no longer in use like that, it became a social place, there is an all year round gallery, a few restaurants and a small theatre. but additionally it organises big events such as the fashion meeting or food fests, really worth checking out, it was totally new to me and i'm in love.
here are some shots of the place, sorry for the quality, i forgot my dslr (#professionalblogger)...
even though i've been to such a place before, this time i actually found something. let me show you:
this is a beautiful bag, silky smooth.
it's from a co mi tam.
the fabric on the inside seems quite durable
and easy to wash, and the metallic
handles completely make this for me!
these are fingerless made from felt.
the felt is made from merino sheep wool
so they are really soft.
the colour is beautiful
and the lady selling them is so creative!
when you go to her website,
there is a gallery, check it out.
these are soooo nice!
brylove has very nice glasses,
mostly sunglasses but normal ones too.
i've been looking for big, round glasses for so long,
most of them would be too small for my face
or the frame was wonky.
but these are perfect, and the red-pinkish tone of the lens
just adds that much to the world!
as you all obviously know, i love socks.
every time i pass a place that sells them,
i have to take a look and search for new
additions to my crazy collection
(btw, for my namesday i got 9 pairs).
i discovered many mornings,
i was instantly hooked but i just never came across them
in real life, but they were here.
so i naturally got some.
now, this is probably my favourite thing,
a cat bag! and the ears are 3d!
dekumdekum specialises in those things,
they even have their own lining fabric.
and the price is very affordable,
if i say so myself.
as if this wasn't the longest post here in a while, i have one more thing.
i'm looking for another pair of correction glasses, and i want them a bit crazy.
there was this stall, bodyych
and i freaking found rita skeeter glasses!
my question, should i get them?
you could comment on my instagram.
the fair is open tomorrow as well, from 11am to 6pm, get the 31, 32 or 8 tram.
hope you enjoyed that,
love,
qofr
p.s. i know it may sound like i was paid to say all this or something but i really, (unfortunately, heh) wasn't. i would tell you.

hi!
i know that it's probably quite late for that but i want to give you a little summary of my textile arts short course in central saint martins.
so... i wanted to know more about textiles, design them, make them, you know learn how to knit and all that. and so i did. here: link!
first day we started with a tour of the building (i've only ever been to the library so it was quite cool), then we drew, drew and drew.
i'm used to drawing (2,5 hours at once) but it wasn't standard drawing. Taz, i hope this is correct, a student at csm textiles, gave us tasks like blind drawing, drawing with your left hand, using different mediums.
look at this, isn't it neat?
we did lots of research into our own collections. of course i brought socks, 15 pairs of different ones to be precise. i don't even know how i got from socks to bugs (spoiler, that was my main project), but i started with some lighting bolts and silver thread from one of my feet sweaters.
others focused on what was dear to them, childhood toys, baubles, family photos. emma did some of her mother's jewellery, charlotte did some ticket drawings from her notebook. anyway, productive and it was only the begging.
next one: actual textiles, yarn stuff and screen print and knitting! it was so cool!
hope you enjoyed, socks are coming later today.
hugs for the textiles crew if you're reading.
love,
qofr

ok. i'm sorry. but now i'm on holiday so it's all good. and i hope i won't procrastinate on this. cause i'm a shitty bloger. are we done here? good.
hi. again. hi.
so... as a starter let me just throw words at you. you ok with that? might be painful, you know, all those comas stuck in your skin, sharp ends of w's and t's. only o's are nice, bouncy little o's.
i'm feeling much better, for all of those of you who care.
i missed my anniversary. again, just like last year. don't worry, the new layout will be done till the end of july, it's the best one yet.
plus things.
i'm going to an arts school in september. today was a shopping day. i went with my sister and it was... scary. i mean... i don't know all the terms, i have no idea how much of what i need to get or how to ask for that. that's where my anxiety kicks in and i'm just paralised. so i just got the basics. i'll probably have to go back there. on my own... oh my god...
this makes me nervous about next year. and i don't know how to paint or draw, when you think about it. i mean... drawing is my thing, but it's not very good and i'm hopeless with any other paints than watercolours. disaster is in the making. me in an arts school doing characterisation and styling. wonderful. i shall document me falling into a pit off eternal despair by the end of the summer, expect some intense footage.
other stuff.
i've been obsessed with mail lately. i mean the real snail-mail thing. if you follow me on instagram or twitter you probably know that but now i'm telling you for sure. actually, through instagram i discovered a wonderful mail-art artist. she's russian, and unfortunately i can't read cyrylic but her art is amazing.
her blog:

and her instagram:

so for now your task is to get mailing. i can even offer you a deal that if you email me (or like send any other way) your address i'll make something fun for you and we can become pen-palls, isn't that cool? no, only me?

crying heart
there are some songs that always make me cry, no matter what. one of them is people help the people by birdy. i know it by heart, and every word feels like it's written on it with a sharp pen, like in harry potter. i hum the words along the song whenever it plays. i try to practise feeling emotions, i know it sounds weird but bear with me. so i cry a little everywhere cause my shuffle is heartless.
the other one is żwir by maria peszek. she's a polish artist so the very meaningful words are not understandable to everyone, just so you know. the music itself is also very moving. recently it became one of my anthems, i don't feel alright.
but the fact that this makes me feel sad so much and every time makes me calm. you know, that one thing that stays. and this makes me happy. the fact that i can have that. just a monday night reflection.
in other news. i'm designing a new layout, it deserves a revamp. i just can't decide on the font on the banner yet. any suggestions? oh and i'm writing the other posts for gatsby, let's hope i'll finish them soon.
oh and do you like snail mail? pen pals, mail art and such?

oh my god. it happened again. no, not the hangover version but my one.
i'm the worst blogger i know, granted i don't know many but still the crown of procrastination goes to my lazy head.
if it makes you feel any better i failed a lot of things not only posting on my blog 'regularly'. time just fly's so fast!
this time i won't promise i'll be better. cause i fail a lot.
this time i'm just gonna do it.
so... hi
as for news, london happened.
i miss it, i miss kat, i miss melissa and i miss jake (we have to meet). and i miss piccadilly waterstones, and tate modern and v&a. and lush and even boots. come on, why can't i live there!?
also... my fascination with costumes continues with anna karenina (the new one) and the great gatsby (in cinemas right now). posts coming up.
what else... i got some stuff maybe i'll show you that (you want to see my stuff??)
and i'm on a book ban :(
that's that for now,
check out my instagram (@mondaysfashion) and tumblr (foxy-dreams.tumblr.com) for some daily fluff

y or n?
you it's about time to write a post when after typing i into your browser instead of your blog it goes to imdb and ben whishaw (my latest obsession). and you sit more on youtube than on tumblr.
i'm gonna improve i promise.
so... what do you think about going into costume design? my craze with actors and skyfall/cloud atlas resulted in eager searches at 5 am for q's cardigan or his tie.
and i came across this great blog, hello, tailor. she reviews costumes from tv shows and films. she even discussed the cardigan (yes, i want it. i want it so badly. h&m prepare for an attack. you too, second-hands).
maybe i could review films like that as well? jacqueline would come out of my magical box of secrets and help me :)
what do you say, yea or nay?
my first would probably be skyfall. cause it's on a loop on my pear now.
should i do the same for the costumes for our school play?
let me know if you want. you don't have to but it would be super nice of you :)
take care,
love,

maybe i could review films like that as well? jacqueline would come out of my magical box of secrets and help me :)
what do you say, yea or nay?
my first would probably be skyfall. cause it's on a loop on my pear now.
should i do the same for the costumes for our school play?
let me know if you want. you don't have to but it would be super nice of you :)
take care,

hi?
*where the hell have you been?*
places you don't want to hear about. it was magical at times but mostly it was dark, cold and terrifying. i hope that now i will be back for good.
a lot has happened during my free weeks. the fashion weeks mostly. i was going to do a review of some of the shows transmitted live. but i missed the ones i wanted to watch and it was a disaster in general. plus i'm not sure if anyone apart from me is interested in that kinds of posts. let me know?
i also have some new stuff. lookbook? for wintery spring, which is what it is outside here? anybody?
i had a ton of stuff to tell you. and i wrote the beginning of this post and got distracted for 3 days. so i don't know. if i think of something, follow me on twitter and i'll probably remember at like 3 am and tweet it.
good, i hope i'll see you really soon
sooner than you think....

why i don't have any money?
or rather
why are there so many pretty thing to buy?!
theproblemsofainternetoholic
lately i've been embracing my inner parisienne. which is a bit unusual considering the fact that i want to be british all the time... weird.
i sort of lost a bit of my retro inspiration, quite literally (i lost my photos, been a bit too enthusiastic about my cleaning) but now i found it. expect more, maybe even tomorrow.
other things in my life include a struggle with my bloody education, a constant mess in my inner things and a self-confidence drought. nothing major. don't you worry.
see you tomorrow,

retrosection
let me entertain you with my newzezz.
i got a fringe, but i'm getting it 'improved' tomorrow. it just needs a bit more to it. i also did some cleaning up. my usual creative mess was getting out of hand.
other things. there are some polish models in the new british vogue. cool.
so as you probably know from my last post, i'm working on a new 'collection'. i'm saying 'collection' because i'm doing only drawings. sad but i have to deal with that for now.
i call it retrosection. it's like coming into a antique shop from a jumble sale.
it was quite hard to find some good photos for inspiration.
let me know if you want to see the mood boards and all that stuff.

these are actually first three drawings. i don't know if they'll make it into the final but they sum up my inspirations quite well.
and yeah, that thing on her head on the right is a riding cap. well a hat that looks like one.
i just can't draw that en face.
let me know what you think about the sketches. i'm actually quite pleased with them. they took three hours (went by quickly with radio 1 and dan and phil) but i feel good about showing them to you.
btw this is my new drawing pad, thanks grandma.
and how is your life?
love you as always,

words of fluff, fluff of words
first of all you have no idea what i went through to get this post written and up. i have no power in my house and pear was on like 10% from last night so i was desperate to get to starbucks. and my internet is being a little piece of crap. fortunately the power is probably returning tomorrow so we're saved. for now i just have to deal with no light cold shower (our water is heated electrically) and reading by the candle. that i can manage, i can even suspect i'll enjoy it.
so this is basically a little update post. or something like that, i'm not sure yet, i'm just typing away.
one - what's up with me?
if you are holding your breath for an answer, i'm sorry, could be long. if you're purple or blue please breath! i'm okay. let's say okay for now. i'll find out more soon, probably. i just feel washed out, with out a sense. but that's not one of your worries for now. i'm not going to stop being creative for the time being so this blog will still exist. (you probably don't care about that, then what are you doing here?)
deux - the here
the here i mean the blog. so i finished 'the other side of patchwork' project series thing. did you enjoy it? please, please give me feedback. i know there has to be someone reading this blog. just type yes or no. i need that cause i have a new idea, this time for a whole collection but without making the pieces. it would be a lot of work and i don't really have the skills to make something more than basics. the other thing that the posts with costume drawings are going to return. this year we are playing out our own play, and again i'm in charge of the costumes. i like it. also i've been thinking about starting a new tag. opinions or something even less original. these would be ramble posts about my opinions about things that are in fashion but are not exactly fashion. like designers denying some journalists the entry to their shows. or the way the industry sometimes treats new people. something along these lines. i think it would be quite interesting and a nice new thing amongst the drawings and projects. the last thing, i think that for fashion weeks or at least a part of them i want to return to reviewing some fashion shows. do you think it's a good idea?
talk to me people! i just want to post what you want to hear about!
pleaeeeese!
i'll give you a hug and a chocolate chip cookie! or something else if you're allergic!
(yes, i am desperate)
trzy - random fluff
do you think i should get into lomography? first i wanted a polaroid or something similar but the paper cassettes are soo expensive. and not really available for me. so i ventured into the depths of the internet and found the lomography community. and i really like this idea, plus it's much more money-realistic for me. i think that i'll buy a camera but i just wanted to ask what's your point. any suggestions? pros and cons? anything really.
and if you don't have a clue what i'm talking about: if you're not allergic to alternative things: http://www.lomography.com/
ok,
i think that's pretty much it.
oh, yeah i'm reading more in english, so proud of myself.
love,

hi, hi, hi.
i've neglected you a bit. and i'm sorry. but i really have a good reason.
as you maybe remember i'm in this thing called ib. and myp.
don't mind them, the point is that i have to do my personal project. well, it should be done a bit by now...
anyway, i obviously picked a fashion related... haven't i already... yeah i did.
so. i actually did something today. i'm really proud of myself, because now, that i have my inspiration done, i can start drawing!
and it didn't take a lot of time so that's good too. i have some pictures, post tomorrow. i'm lying in my bed and i'm just too lazy.
---
since i got back from london, i've just been so ready and inspired to do stuff. i don't have a clue why but i feel like it's getting better.
good timing there, life. it's the end of the year and now it decided to get better, eh.
just hope 2013 won't be as shitty as 2012.
see you tomorrow,

so i'm now on my course. like not literally right now but in general. today was my second day.
more on that in a second.
d. 1.
i was really early. but it paid off, i got a seat and didn't have to wait for my pass (yeah, i got a student pass, i feel so professional. i even got a student discount in a shop. for a single glue but still). blueberry, she's taking a architecture course, was late. but i've met some new people, they're really nice. but i kinda feel left out, cause i'm like the only one not from there, so it's kinda weird. the course it's interesting. look what i did today:

are these photos fine? cause i don't have my big camera with me so i'm taking them with an old olympus. btw can you see a pattern?
d. 2.
we saw the valentino exhibition in somerset house! it is really cool, even if it's little. maybe not little but i thought it will be bigger... but still, the dresses are wonderful and you should go. i took some notes and did some sketches for the small collection we have to present to class after this course.
'future fantasy'
that should be good.
i'm going for the stars war approach, i think. got my newspapers, got my notes.
tomorrow, illustration and king's cross library.
and for the end, do you think i should tell them about this blog? some of them have blogs, but i feel like mine is a bit not really on topic...
what do you think?
btw. instagram is changing their policy, i'm still not sure but i might be deleting my account.
see you tomorrow,

guess where i am?
in a very hard bed. in a room the size of a matchbox. in a 3 floor building (lift goes only to the 2nd one).
in london!
fun things from today:
there is no row 13 in an airplane.
i saw a single shoe on the baggage claim.
every man around me fell asleep as soon as we took off. with newspapers on their heads.
tomorrow i'm gonna post some pictures :)
love,
qofr
p.s. i't trying this new body wash from soap and glory and it's like the most amazing thing on this planet!
