week 8

hello

at least i post once a week right? bjork post coming this week. i have an obsession.

 brandied fruits are the best with vanilla ice cream.
there is a simple recipe here

 i love buttons, so this was really fun to draw
though, i wouldn't recommend sewing
actual buttons to your socks, i would be hella uncomfortable

 self explanatory, i feel like there is a lack of
socks with letters on them.
is it just me?

 how cute is this? i have to find a way
to make these ones.
how does one make socks?

 first i wanted to draw the un flag but
it would be so pointless since no one would notice it.
so here are some flags.

 i love pasta, and italian food in general actually.
i would wear these so much.

howl at the moon day must be one of the
most random ones yet.
but how cool is that?

good?

see you soon,

love,

week 7

bonne soire

i'm not very into native american culture,
this is probably very stereotypical but that's really all i know.

 looks very steampunky but she invented the basics of modern computers!
it's all about bringing science to the people,
especially women

 i know it's not very in the theme but i love it anyway.
the idea is to make the dots from this anti-slip rubber thing
so everyone can read them.

 eee... that's just here to represent him, not his company,
although i think he was so into it
that he basically was his company.

 crocs. apparently disgusting. i say comfy.
just don't wear it outside.

 something for the architects, i was going for golden gate
but i don't think you can see that.

this is supposed to be the traditional film
but there is only so much you can do
with 2d socks.

hope you're enjoying this series

love,

week 6

hi

 my personal not-birthday

 i know i did a crappy job with the frappe part
but i hope you get the gist

 yes

 i love mail so i had a hard time deciding
on what i should put there
so i just drew everything

 hundreds-and-thousands anyone?

there was a lgbt parade in my city,
pretty cool and colourful!

hotarureika and i went to the pumpkin festival here.
it was beautiful, crowdy and autumn.

what happened in your week,

love,

anvers

hi!

since last time i revisited antwerp i showed you what i did. so now to what i saw.

beautiful murals:

weird swans in windows:
and chocolate:

and some more chocolate:

funky jewellery:
and a dog in a jewellery shop:
"i'm going to guard this window till the day i die. who is this blue haired freak?"

and more beautiful shops:

wow such a great commentary. but that's true i just want to show the photos.

since this is about it, just have another shot of antwerp central station.
 byeeee!

week 5

here we go:

 my favourite hot drink probably, it's just good.
gotta celebrate that

 there were no really interesting holidays on this day
so i decided to do a month one. i know it's pretty cliche but
i like it anyway

 too bad real balloons are too fragile to walk in them
but let's just make balloon socks!

 i know weird right? but it's that box in
speaker's corner in hyde park in london
for some reason this is the thing that comes
to my mind when i think of poetry
declination

 this is the oddest holiday yet. i thought it's pretty pointless
since viruses give us disease. but after a bit of research
i found out that by studying their mechanisms
we can figure out new ways to give medicine.
isn't that cool? science!
*queue geeky music*

you knew i was gonna pick that one. i love food
and it would be great to hear
''is that a taco in your shoe?!?"

b&b are inherently british for me so a full
english breakfast it is. the tomatoes and mushrooms
would be on the other sock along with some toast.
yum!

this is getting fun!

love,

week 4

better late than never right?

my macbook sort of gives up and that's why this is late, please forgive me. normal posting will resume shortly.

 pretty self explanatory
 actually it was about nixon's dog, checkers, but it's good to play checkers too ;]
 i would wear these to my matura exam, i'm terrible with punctuation
 i don't even know, but this is a kind of graph of how psychotherapy works, at least for me.
lots of ups and downs, sometimes even deep deep down.
 i love dream catchers. i made one myself, not as pretty as this one.
i wonder what my feet dream of, especially with these socks.
 the lace detail is supposed to be real lace. probably very impractical but so nice looking.
also drawing that was kinda weird, need to practice this, especially for my secret project.
self explanatory, inspired by my two ''birthday suits''. it was great
and yes, that's a tutu.

hope you enjoy,

love,

qofr

belgique

welcome to my belgium series.

i have so many pictures from antwerp, i just want to share them with you.

antwerp stole my heart immediately. when the first thing you see after getting off the train is this beauty you can see what i mean!

or is it just me?
the architecture there is odd but wonderful. every single building is different, on most streets you can see a mix of just every decade possible. new and old mix and match and you would think that it would look awful but surprisingly it works out great! i feel it gives it it's charm. i also heard that pretty much all of that part of europe looks a bit like that, how cool is this? i have so much to see...
i have no freaking idea what the street name was but i found this awesome cafe. first day i was just walking around, waiting for my hotel room, and i thought, what the heck, i might just go in and check this out.
the place is beautiful, kinda hip now that i think of it. they play great music, the lady is very nice. all the food is hand made right there, the sandwiches are even made just before your eyes. also they have a very interesting menu. i drank a soda with lavender and flower nectar and some berries. it was absolutely great.

moving on to hot dishes.
they are serious bout their french fries in belgium. and for a good reason.
i was thinking, how good can these be? what can be so freaking special?
i don't know the second answer but they can be really good. and this is the best sign for this.

the main market square with the freaking unesco building. i had to read the plate on there to know that. that's how well i was prepared for this trip, congrats to me.

they have a beautiful cathedral there, gothic with the originals of rubens paintings and colourful stained glass windows.
and look how well and how nicely it is lit. i've always had a problem with that, there are very few churches with nice lighting, appropriate chandeliers and all that. i think this behaves quite well... i might be slightly biased cause i'm utterly in love with bare lightbulbs aesthetic.
the whole main old city is traffic free, there are only occasional bikes but it's quite crowdy sometimes, streets are a bit narrow. look how beautiful:
~~~
second day, since i went to my most wanted thing in the first day, more on that later, i kinda had a lot of time to do other stuff, as always.
as i'm a history of arts diploma student i felt the need to culture myself and follow rubens's footsteps. he lived in antwerp most of his life there. i visited his house, in part his biggest studio.
he slept upright!
there was a beautiful, really classic garden there, it was probably modified a few times since baroque but it still feels authentic.
let me know if you want more antwerp, i have a few more planned but it's been so long that maybe you want something new.
don't worry, i'll still do the ''walkthrough'' on the birds of paradise exhibit. it was awesome.
sorry for being so late, my trusty macbook is getting old
love,
qofr
ps. socks coming up in like an hour
